| About the Innkeepers...
Jeffrey and Maxine Lome purchased the Weathervane Inn from Vincent
and Anne Murphy in June of 1998, moving their family to the Berkshires
from West Orange, New Jersey. After 17 years in corporate management
positions, the Lomes welcome the opportunity to pursue more personal
passions and create a lifestyle that allows them to spend more
time with their daughters, Erica and Jordan.
Purchasing the Weathervane Inn represents a dream weve shared
since we stayed at our first B&B some 13 years ago in Nova Scotia.
The inn was called Grandmas House, and the warmth and charm of
this small seaside retreat got us hooked on this form of hospitality.
The innkeepers took a personal interest in our trip and helped
us plan the rest of our stay in Nova Scotia at some of the most
beautiful inns along the Lighthouse and Evangelist trails. From
our bedroom window we watched the sun set on the water, and that
night at dinner shared, what remains in our memory, one of the
best pieces of blueberry pie weve ever eaten. Over the years,
weve sought out B&Bs and country inns wherever weve traveled,
and have never been disappointed.
In his pre-Inn life, Jeffrey was the Financial Officer of a large
industrial manufacturing company in northern New Jersey, and before
that, spent five years with legendary fashion designer Oleg Cassini
as the Financial Officer of his licensing company and fragrance
division, which he helped found. Jeffrey has his B.S. in Accounting
from George Washington University and his MBA in Taxation from
Hofstra University.
Maxine has built a career in the cellular telecommunications industry,
holding various marketing management positions with cellular manufacturers
and telephone companies. For six years, prior to starting her
own marketing communications consulting company for start-up wireless
companies, Maxine was editor of some of the cellular industrys
leading trade magazine. Maxine has taken her company, Wireless
Marcom, L.L.C., up to the Berkshires, plugging her computer into
a new wall socket and logging on the Internet with a local 413
access number.
Our friends and family were amazed that we so willingly gave
up successful and well-established corporate careers to take on
something so different so unconventional so out there for
the life we were leading. The truth is were excited about making
a life change while were still young enough to have a passion
for change. We love being homebodies, entertaining and spending
time with our children. This is a lifestyle that best reflects
who were are and marries all our skills and areas of interest.
When our travels for an Inn took us to the Berkshires and The
Weathervane Inn, we each looked at each other as weve done
for the last 21 years and knew we found a home.
Jeffrey, Maxine, Erica, and Jordan welcome you to their home in
the Berkshires.
